We mostly volunteer for Hombuilt Aircraft Parking and Flightline Saftey where we help push/park Airplanes, keep crowd control at taxi intersections and perform ground control functions on the taxiways at the annual Airventure Convention.
Trips to Oshkosh became an annual event for Aviation Explorer Post 218 of Racine, Wisconsin.
A desire to open the program up to other Posts resulted in what is now the Aviation Explorer Base. Starting with a small group of scouts in 1993.
The program has grown to 98 Explorers this year. Include the adult advisers, and there are 125 people, not including staff, camping at the Explorer Base.
